The compiler of the anthology of poems from across the ocean wished Prilepin death at the front

“When HIMARS covers it”

In Russia, two significant anthologies of modern poetry have been published so far – the first in support of the SVO (“Resurrected in the Third World War”), the second – a collection of so-called “anti-war” works (“Poetry of the Last Time”). The compiler of the patriotic book was made by people from the circle of Zakhar Prilepin, while the author of the ideologically opposite one was Yuri Leving, a Broadcaster, a professor at the University of Princeton (USA).

As you might guess, the two “competing firms” exchange insults regularly, but this time the copy-breaking has taken the ugliest form.

Mr. Leving, on his page on social networks, wished Prilepin death, calling the situation of death at the front “ridiculous”:

– Zakhar Prilepin, before leaving for the front, left the following entry in his LiveJournal: “So, cotton patriots have released an anthology that leads in the ranking of poetic sales. And the liberal non-Polish people released an anthology with trans-Ukrainian poems. Which no one needs. So I thought that it would still be funny if this record turns out to be the last word of a special operative about Russian literature when he is covered by a HIMARS shell.

It is clear that we are talking about the writer’s recent departure to the NVO zone as a volunteer, where he can really be “covered” at any moment. Even if Prilepin, as Strelkov had previously accused him, does not really fight, he still risks his life. And while he is holding a machine gun in his hands, he cannot answer his opponents.

For him, his closest ally, Oleg Demidov, did it. He provided a screenshot of Leving’s entry and accompanied the picture with a reasonable caption:

“And the bloodthirsty bastards who wish their opponents to die, or at least the most terrible torment, are still us.”

And here in this story it was necessary to start captions or lower the curtain – the “good” and “bad” guys that the Americans love to find in any conflict clearly showed themselves.

But Igor Karaulov, Z-poet number one, stepped in. However, he did not find anything better than to burst out with an anti-Semitic post:

— Yuri Leving? You know, I’m a curious person about what I don’t need and I can still list a dozen Russian-speaking writers with surnames ending in “stein” and “berg”, but I didn’t know that a certain Yuri Leving was related to Russian literature until the very the last time. Now, it turns out, this one wants to decide who to be and who not to be in our literature.

I thought that with such friends, Prilepin did not need enemies. And I also remembered a quote from a classic Soviet movie: “Gentlemen, you are animals.”
