The Central Bank will expand OSAGO tariffs from September 13

New tariffs in OSAGO for the majority of car owners will be valid from September 13th. The changes introduced by the Central Bank (CB) provide for the expansion of the OSAGO tariff corridor by 26%. As explained in the Central Bank, this will allow “to take into account the individual risks of drivers in the face of rising prices for spare parts.”
“The corridor of the basic OSAGO tariff for most categories of car owners will be expanded by 26% up and down … For cars of citizens, the basic OSAGO tariff rate will be set by insurers for each driver in the range of 1646–7535 rubles,”— reported in the Central Bank.
For public transport, the tariff corridor is expanding by 17.8% in both directions. As stated in the message of the Central Bank, the calculation of territorial coefficients was also specified.
The most vulnerable parts in case of accidents have risen in price by an average of 28.7%, should from the updated reference books of the cost of spare parts of the Russian Union of Motor Insurers. According to Yury Strekalov, director of CMTPL portfolio management at Rosgosstrakh, by the end of 2022, we should expect an increase in CMTPL prices comparable to the increase in the cost of spare parts.
The average OSAGO premium during January-April 2022 was at the level of 6.5–6.7 thousand rubles. Denis Morozov, Director of the Sales Department of the Retail Business Directorate of Ingosstrakh, in a conversation with “b” predicted an increase in the average OSAGO premium, taking into account the expansion of tariffs by 10-15%.
In September 2020, the Central Bank expanded the OSAGO tariff corridor by 10% in both directions. As a result, the OSAGO premium in 2021 increased by 1.85% compared to 2020.
