The Bank of Russia plans to disclose the financial results of the banking sector in 2022. The director of the department of banking regulation and analytics of the Central Bank Alexander Danilov said this “Interfax” during the Finopolis forum.
Mr. Danilov said that the Central Bank wants to move to a more complete disclosure of information on the financial results of the banking sector. The regulator will definitely release the financial results of banks for 2022 and, possibly, at the end of ten months.
According to Mr. Danilov, Russian banks are unlikely to be able to turn a profit before the end of this year. He added that in the third quarter, banks “pretty decently” managed to reduce their losses compared to the results of the first half of the year.
6 March Central Bank allowed Russian banks not to publish financial statements. At the same time, banks are still required to provide data to the Central Bank for operational control over their activities. The regulator said that this was done to limit the risks of credit institutions associated with the sanctions imposed by Western countries.
In November, some Russian banks began to return to the disclosure of financial indicators. For example, Sberbank reported profits in October and promised to publish monthly reports, albeit limited ones.
