President Vladimir Putin signed a decree giving the Central Bank the right to issue permits for the export of more than $10,000 of foreign currency from the country. In addition, the document restricts transactions by “unfriendly” non-residents who own more than 1% of shares in Russian financial institutions. According to decreefor such operations will require permission from the government commission.
“In order to apply the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of March 1, 2022 No. 81 … to grant the Central Bank of the Russian Federation the authority to issue permits for the export from the Russian Federation of foreign currency in cash and (or) monetary instruments in foreign currency in an amount exceeding the amount specified in subparagraph ” g” of paragraph 1 of this decree,” the document says.
Vladimir Putin banned to take out of the country currency worth more than $10,000 by his decree of March 1. The amount is determined at the official exchange rate of the Central Bank, set on the date of export.
