The Bank of Russia clarified the words of the First Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank Vladimir Chistyukhin about the unblocking of the assets of the National Settlement Depository (NSD) in Belgium. Today, December 21, Interfax, citing Mr. Chistyukhin informedthat, in addition to Luxembourg, Belgium also issued permission to unlock NSD’s assets. However, according to the press service of the Central Bank, there is no license from Belgium yet.
“Today there is only a Luxembourg license, there is no Belgian one yet. Will it be and in what form is a serious question, ”Kommersant was told in the press service of the Central Bank. The press service quoted Mr. Chistyukhin during the Q&A session.
December 20 reportedthat the Ministry of Finance of Luxembourg has given permission to unlock the assets, securities and coupon income that are stuck in the Clearstream international depositary. This happened against the backdrop of the imposition of sanctions against NSD.
