Mikhail Mamuta, a member of the board of directors of the Central Bank of Russia, said that the regulator intends to give access to Middle East ETFs to unqualified investors. Mr. Mamuta spoke about this during the RBC Capital Markets: Russia forum.
“We are seriously discussing the idea with eastern ETFs, which, of course, are not as large as western ones. Nevertheless, interest in the market (to them.— ”b”) growing”, — quotes RBC representative of the Central Bank.
According to him, based on the experience of the results of testing unqualified investors and taking into account market requirements, the Central Bank also plans to reduce the rating requirements for bonds that are available to such investors without testing.
At the moment, unqualified investors can only buy low-risk instruments. Among them are Russian shares from the first and second quotation lists of the Moscow Exchange, securities of “friendly” countries, as well as foreign securities included in the index calculation base from the regulator’s list.
