The Bulgarian government terminated the lease of the Rosenets terminal for LUKOIL

The Bulgarian government has notified the subsidiary of LUKOIL in the country about the termination of the lease of the Rosenets port terminal in Burgas. This was reported press office cabinet of ministers.
As follows from the message, the lease agreement was terminated on the basis of an amendment to control restrictive measures in connection with Russia’s actions “to destabilize the situation in Ukraine.” No other details are given.
In Bulgaria, LUKOIL owns the Burgas Petrochemical Plant, the largest refinery in the Balkans. It accounts for about 9% of Bulgaria’s GDP. In November 2022, the Bulgarian government allowed companies export to the EU, despite the embargo on Russian oil and petroleum products.
