General Director of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia, Artistic Director – Director of the Mariinsky Theater Valery Gergiev announced that on April 15, the first concert of the Symphony Orchestra of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia under his direction will take place at the Moscow Zaryadye Concert Hall. According to Gergiev, this is only the beginning of a new chapter of large-scale cooperation between one of the country’s leading musical theaters and the central concert venue of Russia.

General Director of the Moscow Zaryadye Concert Hall Ivan Rudin, in turn, emphasized that many of the most striking projects of the Zaryadye Hall are associated with Valery Gergiev and the Mariinsky Theater. He expressed confidence that cooperation with the Bolshoi Theater will be fruitful, and the agreement being prepared will become the basis for the implementation of the most daring creative plans.

The concert program is marked by two important anniversaries – the 180th anniversary of the birth of Nikolai Andreevich Rimsky-Korsakov and the 185th anniversary of the birth of Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky. And the Bolshoi Theater orchestra will open the concert with an introduction to the opera “Khovanshchina” “Dawn on the Moscow River” by M.P. Mussorgsky. By the way, this is the music that was played at the opening of the Zaryadye Hall in 2018.
