Russian households that invested in cryptocurrency invested an average of 17.5 thousand rubles in this asset, reported TASS with reference to the data of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation for 2022. In general, over 65% of households in the Russian Federation have financial assets.
Most households spent no more than 20% of their income on savings last year. The share of households with bank accounts was 64.5%, the share of owners of shares or bonds – 1.6%, electronic wallets – 1.2% (while only 0.4% had assets in cryptocurrencies), shares in mutual funds ( Mutual Fund) – 0.3%, metal accounts – 0.3%.
The average financial assets of Russian households amounted to 15.7 thousand rubles. The median value of assets in bank accounts or deposits of those who had them was 15 thousand rubles. Shares and bonds – 26.5 thousand rubles, investments in mutual funds – 82.5 thousand rubles. At the same time, Russian households held an average of 3.3 thousand rubles in metal accounts, and 1 thousand rubles in electronic wallets.
The Central Bank of the Russian Federation collected information using a questionnaire method as part of the All-Russian Survey of Households on Consumer Finance, which was conducted in April-August 2022.
