The average price of Urals oil in December 2022 fell by almost a third year-on-year

The average price of Urals oil for 2022 increased to $76.09 per barrel compared to the average price for the same period in 2021 – $69 per barrel, the press office Ministry of Finance of Russia. At the same time, the average Urals price for December 2022 was $50.47, which is one third lower than in December 2021 ($72.71 per barrel).
On December 5, the price ceiling for Russian oil, set at $60 per barrel, came into force, this decision was made by the EU countries, the G7 and Australia. On December 8, the cost of Urals was $43.73 per barrel, Bloomberg reported. Agency notedthat Urals is trading well below the ceiling.
In late December, Vladimir Putin approved the Russian response to the oil price ceiling. It is forbidden to sell raw materials if the contract directly or indirectly specifies the mechanism for fixing the marginal cost. The same applies to petroleum products. The decree comes into force on February 1 of the current year.
