The average payment of Russians to collectors over the year increased by 17% – Kommersant

In December, Russian citizens who have overdue debts of more than 90 days will pay an average of 4,635 rubles to collectors. towards repayment. In 2022, the average monthly payment in a bank assignment (assignment of debt collection rights) ranged from RUB 3,094. up to 3942 rub. Since March 2023, it has consistently exceeded 4 thousand rubles.

NAPCA indicated that the average payment began to increase due to the return of debtors to the savings model of behavior – they reduce unnecessary expenses, which frees up additional funds to pay off obligations. VTB associated the increase in this indicator with an increase in payment discipline, since in 2023, 96% of borrowers managed to pay off their overdue debt, and the number of citizens going into overdue debt decreased by 20%.

Forbes’ interlocutors also said that the increase in average debt payments was influenced by the tightening of monetary policy. One of the reasons for the increase in this amount by the end of the year is related to the psychological factor, since citizens strive to enter the new calendar year without debt.

Previously Tinkoff published a study that says that on the eve of the New Year, Russians are beginning to actively pay off debts on loans and housing and communal services. By the end of the year, the average bill for payments to charitable organizations is also growing, but the frequency of such transactions per client is decreasing.
