The authorities are discussing the reduction of benefits for bringing electricity to private homes

The authorities of the regions, with the participation of energy companies, are discussing the abolition of the preferential tariff for connecting to the power grid of those private households that are not put on the cadastral register. We are talking, in particular, about houses under construction. The issue was raised in early August within the framework of the commission of the State Council of the Russian Federation on energy, two sources familiar with the discussion told Vedomosti, and confirmed by a representative of the press service of the Ministry of Energy.

“Most of the members of the commission were against this mechanism. Ministry of Energy supported [их] position,” the ministry said in a commentary to Vedomosti. But the reduction of preferential categories through additional conditions for technical connection (TP) is supported in the largest Russian grid company Rosseti, follows from a copy of the commission protocol, which Vedomosti has read. The state-owned company believes that this will reduce shortfalls in income of grid companies, which are taken into account in the electricity transmission tariff, and reduce the financial burden on consumers (the costs of TP for individuals are partially offset by raising tariffs for already connected consumers. – Vedomosti).
