The government has set quotas for the export of Russian grain for 2024 in the amount of 24 million tons. This follows from resolutions government. This year the quota was at 25.5 million tons.
The quota applies to supplies to countries that are not members of the Eurasian Economic Union. A quota for the export of wheat and meslin, rye, barley and corn was introduced for the period from February 15 to June 30.
From December 1 the authoritiesbanned export of durum wheat to stabilize prices. The ban will be in effect until May 31, 2024. In August, the media reported about the risks of rising bread prices against the backdrop of rising prices for grain and flour. Then the Ministry of Agriculture stated that Russia’s grain supply was 85% higher than its needs.
