The Mondi group of companies engaged in the production of paper and packaging has entered into an agreement for 95 billion rubles. (€1.5 billion) on the sale of the Russian subsidiary Mondi Syktyvkar, owned by Augment Investments Limited.
As reported in press release (.pdf) on the Mondi website, the conclusion of the deal will depend on whether it is approved by the government commission for the control of foreign investment and antitrust approvals.
A controlling stake in the investment company Augment Investments Limited is owned by entrepreneur Viktor Kharitonin and includes assets in the pharmaceutical and other sectors in Russia and Europe.
