Vladimir Vyshegorodtsev, a Soviet and Russian animator, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, died at the age of 72.
As Sergey Kapkov, the editor-in-chief of the Soyuzmultfilm film studio, said on social networks, Vyshegorodtsev died on Friday. He was in the hospital and died of a heart attack.
Vladimir Vyshegorodtsev worked at the Soyuzmultfilm film studio from 1978 to 1999, and then worked at the Tallipnfilm studio and the VargaStudio studio in Budapest. In recent years, he has collaborated with various animation studios in Moscow.
The artist worked on such well-known cartoons as “Muk the Skorokhod”, “Leopold and the Goldfish”, “Vacations in Prostokvashino”, “Dunno on the Moon”, “Dobrynya Nikitich and the Serpent Gorynych”.
The last work of Vyshegorodtsev was the film adaptation of Kir Bulychev’s story about Alisa Selezneva “Alice’s Birthday”.
