The government has introduced an initiative in the strategy for the development of the communications industry until 2030, which proposes to create a mechanism for sharing radio frequencies between law enforcement agencies and civil communications operators. This became known to Kommersant from a new version of the strategy developed by the Ministry of Digital Development.
In the event of a state of emergency, law enforcement agencies will have full control over communications. They will be able to disable civilian networks.
According to experts, the initiative can improve the quality of mobile communications, because the bands that are occupied by the military will become available to operators “in peacetime”.
