The capital concert of the anniversary tour of the Kipelov group took place in a picturesque crowded crowd, but it seems that no one was offended. The atmosphere of festivities was felt both before the start of the show and after the heroes of the action bowed. The concert itself showed once again that heavy works miracles with people.
The twenty years that have passed since the breakup of Aria is a serious time to talk about past grievances, make peace and maybe even go on a reunion tour for commercial reasons. In mean comments about the big metal enmity, the participants in the events note that there are no more grievances, but the sediment still remains. And so one is one thing, and the other is another.
However, the clear boundary between the current “Aria” and “Kipelov” may also be explained by the fact that there is no reason to unite at all. The fans survived the personnel confusion and are ready to vote with their rubles for both teams, as can be seen from the tour schedule.
The style of releasing studio recordings of the Kipelov group can be called leisurely. In twenty years there have been three big albums, four maxi-singles and one mini-album. The last one is called “Doomsday Clock” and is from last year, meaning it’s a relatively recent recording by the band. Critics in their reviews of this release were very careful in their choice of expressions, but in general they noted that quite a lot of music and lyrics fit in four tracks, so you can’t exactly call a monotonous mini-album. In addition, the title track is quite suitable for the beginning of the concert, and it turns out that the group had the opportunity to open the show with a new song. How it looked
Quite bright and in many ways unbanal. The role of scenery is performed by seventeen parallelepipeds suspended above the stage, the surfaces of which are used for catchy video projections. Three screens take the rap for multimedia, and in general, a very dynamic picture is formed.
At the beginning of the show, quite appropriate to the spirit of the time, “Doomsday Clock” and “Breath of Darkness” sound. Having thus closed the current agenda, the group begins to work out their hits, which very quickly bring the already excited audience to a real heavy metal condition.
A rather large hall is simply bursting at the seams with the joy of people whose presence under one roof seems not entirely logical. Serious uncles who do not seem to be waving a goat, but they are waving, and very recklessly. Serious girls who look like librarians, and next to them are spectacular tattooed Amazons. Students with the charisma of nerds and schoolchildren in T-shirts with the Kipelov logo, the same as those of moms and dads, who are also nearby. And all these people are screaming, jumping and know the songs by heart.
About an hour after the frenzy began, the band plays “Let’s Fight Again”, after which they go backstage. “If you are interested, then the intermission is twenty minutes,” the cameraman involved in shooting the concert video tells others. People begin to grumble, because the intermission at a rock show is a really controversial move. But, as it turns out, these twenty minutes are needed not only so that the artists can sip some water.
When the curtain opens again, the audience is shown the main special effect of the evening – the Russian Philharmonic orchestra and choral group conducted by conductor Vadim Kuzminsky. They begin to play without a band, and all the spectators act as vocalists, but when the “kipelovtsy” enter the stage, a real dressing begins.
Vadim Kuzminsky has a solid rock and roll background: he conducted orchestras at concerts by Tarja Turunen, Scorpions, Bi-2. “Kipelov & Co” have a solid symphonic experience, and as a result, a joint set of representatives of different musical workshops turns out to be a true delicacy.
There’s a stereotype that orchestrations are best suited to ballads, but on this show, action movies like Reign of Fire and Babylon have become a hurricane. The Aryan classic “Torero” was chosen as a false finale, and “I’m Free” sounds on the encore. In its own way, a missionary thing, which in this context seems to be a utopian anthem for Russia.

Very atmospheric concert. It is customary to laugh at hard-n-heavy, sometimes not without reason. Bustling men in black leather and studs, heroic poses and no less heroic guitar solos are not so easy to take seriously. But if you slightly change the focus of perception and believe that heavy is a parallel universe in which the characters know no compromises, feelings are pure, and the roar of engines calls for a way, then everything that happens both on stage and in the hall will turn into harmony. In the end, that is exactly what happened.
Minuses
The sound in Crocus City Hall often fits the definition of “comfortable”. There is nothing wrong with that, but in the case of the action hero genre, comfort must, of course, give way to shock and awe. Unfortunately, he didn’t give in.
Party Phrase
“He’s a demon!” – a middle-aged lady said decisively in the line to the wardrobe, referring to her friend. Probably, Mr. Kipelov should be flattered by the fact that after decades of his career, his stage performances are still interpreted in the most unpredictable way.
