Tesla has released an updated version of its Model Y crossover in China, reports Reuters. At the same time, the price of the new product is the same as the previous version of the electric car. The starting price is 263.9 thousand yuan (about $36 thousand).
The characteristics and design of the model have remained virtually unchanged. The rear-wheel drive Model Y now accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. instead of 6.9 sec. the previous version, and the declared power reserve became 9 km longer – 554 km. In addition, the manufacturer slightly changed the design of the wheel rims and interior trim.
A month ago Tesla presented a new modification of its most popular car – Model 3, which received much more noticeable improvements and innovations compared to the new Model Y. For Tesla, this was the first launch of a new or upgraded model since 2020. This year, the company plans to begin mass production of the Cybertruck electric pickup truck in China. Recently, Tesla has been generally increasing production in China: in July, it sold 64.3 thousand electric vehicles produced in the country – 31% more than a year earlier.
