Telegram founder Pavel Durov said that the messenger has disabled the paid posts feature for iOS devices due to Apple’s requirements. According to Mr. Durov, Apple wants to receive a tax of 30% from the payment of such posts. On October 27, Telegram launched the paid posts feature. They can be paid through the @donate bot.
As Pavel Durov said, some content creators have started using third-party payment bots to sell access to individual posts in their Telegram channels.
“Unfortunately, we have received a message from Apple that they are unhappy that content creators are monetizing their efforts without paying Apple a 30 percent tax. Since Apple is in complete control of its ecosystem, we had no other alternative but to disable such paid posts on iOS devices,” said Pavel Durov in his channel.
You can publish a paid post in any public Telegram channel. To do this, you need to connect the @donate bot. It has been operating since 2021: through it, you can send donations to authors, as well as subscribe to private Telegram channels. The cost of access to a paid publication is from 200 rubles. up to 60 thousand rubles (from €1 to €1 thousand)
