Tekhmash increased the production of artillery shells by 20 times – Kommersant

Concern “Tekhmash” on the background of the military operation increased the production of ammunition for multiple launch rocket systems by 20 times, said the deputy general director of the company Alexander Kochkin. According to him, in the first quarter of 2023, Tekhmash produced the same amount of ammunition as in the whole of 2022.

Mr. Kochkin said that the concern has “serious growth rates.” “Today, our priority is no longer new developments, but the production of existing samples in large batches and increasing their efficiency,” he told RIA Novosti during the MILEX-2023 arms exhibition.

In September 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to increase production capabilities at defense enterprises, “load equipment as much as possible” and reduce production times. In March 2023, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu ordered double the production of high-precision missiles. Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov saidthat the defense industry enterprises use all possible resources to fulfill the state defense order.
