Taylor Swift becomes the first female artist to top the US charts with four albums at the same time

Taylor Swift’s new album – Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), released on July 7, turned out to be #1 on the Billboard 200 with 716,000 album-equivalents in digital, physical and streaming sales. It was the highest weekly record of any new release this year, and for Swift herself, the best since the release of her previous album, Midnights, in October.
Given that the singer’s other two albums are now in the top 10 US charts (Lover at number 7 and Folklore at number 10), then Taylor Swift became the first woman in history with four albums at the same time in the top US charts. Previously, only Herb Alpert in 1966 and Prince (posthumously) in 2016 managed to do this.
The success of the album Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) also allowed Taylor Swift to overtake Barbra Streisand in the number of first places in the charts – until recently they shared the championship with 11 first places each.
