Tatyana Bulanova named the songs that make her dance and cry: “It breaks through”

The singer’s fans received the video “Touching” with tears of emotion. It seems that the same voice sounded again with the same mood that reflected the pain of millions of love-sick women in her hit “Don’t Cry,” to which at one time the entire tender half of the country cried in unison. It’s not for nothing that the singer has long and rightfully held the honorary title of “the weeping soul of the people,” despite individual and quite unsuccessful attempts to become fashionable in dance in recent years.

The plot of the new video is also painfully familiar to every woman who wants a “touching” relationship. Tatiana sits alone with a burning candle standing on the bedside table, and somewhere in a parallel time space a love drama is taking place, which is performed by two ballet dancers as an expressive dance, symbolizing, of course, “the crossing of arms, the crossing of legs, the crossing of destinies.” Either this is a memory, or this is the singer’s fantasy… But according to tradition, since there is someone who witnesses all this with a candle, it means that this is not a dream and is definitely happening, even in a fictional artistic reality.

In the “Love Doesn’t Pass” video, the main artistic decision was accelerated footage of a moving city, symbolizing the rapid passage of time in which love is frozen in its infinity. And in another new video, “For You,” filmed in a mini-film format, the story of a couple with an age difference is depicted; the lady is noticeably older than the gentleman, just like in Tatyana’s own relationship. The song, of course, is about love, and the video is about love without prejudice.

As it turned out from a conversation with Tatyana, she had someone to learn all this romance from…

– What musical experiences can be called the soundtrack of your life?

– The soundtrack is too voluminous… But there are very vivid memories. This is a concert by Vladimir Kuzmin, which I went to as a schoolgirl. When I heard the song “My Love” for the first time, I was amazed at how beautiful, touching, and simply incredible it was – in the words, in the melody, in the harmony! I also really liked the song by the same Vladimir Kuzmin “What a beautiful downpour.” I remember it was 1982-83, I was walking home from school, and the weather was rainy, but suddenly the sun came out, and I remembered this song.

– And what was your favorite thing in childhood?

– I didn’t have one favorite song, I rather liked the bands: Modern Talking, Bad Boys Blue. And now, when I listen to their songs, associations come with youth, with childhood. I am very pleased that I took part in several concerts with the idols of my childhood. This is cool!

-What was the first song you performed on stage?

– These were the songs by Leonid Derbenev and Maxim Dunaevsky “City Flowers” ​​and “Everything Will Pass.” I was about 14 years old, there was a local ensemble in our Raduga club, where I was hired as a soloist, and I sang there. Now few people remember Zhanna Bichevskaya, but she was simply a brilliant singer… Then one of the musicians there, hearing me, exclaimed that my voice was similar to Bichevskaya, I remembered that.

-What song reminds you of home?

– Oddly enough, this is Yuri Antonov’s song “Dream”. I remember it was late spring, early summer, the girls and I went to Nevsky and bought Antonov’s record at Gostiny Dvor. It was a white minion, and on the cover there was a black and white photograph of his face close up. I came home and immediately put it on the player. And now: summer, the door to the balcony is open, and this song sounds…

– Was this the first record you bought?

– The first record I bought was probably by Alla Pugacheva. I really liked her, and in my youth we caught all her new songs that were released on records; there were no cassettes yet. My mother was fond of records, and it was she who introduced me to the stage. The brightest record remains in my memory; it was my mother’s, flexible, red. On one side there was the song “From dawn to dawn”, and on the other – “I’ll go into the night”, these were songs from the movie “Songs of the Sea” performed by Dan Spataru. Then for the first time I heard the song “From dawn to dawn” (“Sing, guitar!”) and subsequently fell in love and added it to my repertoire. Although I never saw the film.

– Is there a song that you can’t help but dance to?

– If we take old songs, then this is Happy Song performed by Boney M. I liked it both in childhood and now, it’s very catchy!

– Is there a song that makes you cry?

– Many songs from the past that remind you of something make you cry. Probably the most touching song for me is Yuri Antonov’s song “20 Years Later.” For some reason she breaks through.

– Is there any song from someone else’s repertoire that you would like to record?

– I remember a long time ago, when I watched the program “Town,” there was a song by Angelika Varum at the end of the program with the words “Oh, how I want to go back, oh, how I want to break into the town!” And every time I thought: oh, what a cool song, I would sing it! And in the end, I sang it on a program dedicated to the memory of Ilya Oleinikov… Angelika Varum and Leonid Agutin were away and could not participate, and with Angelica’s permission I sang it. In addition, I would really like to do a collaboration with young guys! Although I have already done this several times. I always respond with lightning speed to offers of this kind, it’s great! I guess I want to record something new with someone new, something trendy. Now I listen to this kind of music myself on headphones.

All these years (and Tatyana, as it turned out, has been on stage for more than 40 years – if you count from her age of 14, when she sang in “Rainbow”), the singer remained faithful not only to slow songs, but also to bright disco rhythms. We wish her to find her “happy song”, to which no one can sit still, just as no one can stop crying as soon as “Don’t Cry” sounds…
