Russian airlines will be able to use part of the closed airspace in the south of the Russian Federation for “straight” flights to Sochi from August 30. About it TASS said a source in one of the major airlines. The fact that it is planned to discuss the adjustment of air routes, RBC informed August 27th.
According to the source, such a change will reduce travel time by about 30-35 minutes. “On Monday, there will be a meeting-clarification on flights for airlines,” the agency’s interlocutor also said.
According to RBC, we are talking on the organization of flights from the central regions to the south of Russia, bypassing the airspace of Kazakhstan. If this plan is approved, the flight time from Vnukovo to Sochi will be tentatively reduced by more than 20 minutes, and back by 10 minutes.
Previously, the flight restriction regime to the south of Russia, introduced due to a military operation, was extended until September 4th.
