Thus a new dynasty is born. After the gathering of the troupe, each Mayakovite was given a brand new encyclopedia of the theater, released for his 100th anniversary. The gift set also included a wooden miniature of the theater facade.
The stage on Sretenka will open on August 24, and the historic building is undergoing renovations, which should be completed by September 10. On the day of its opening, “Love according to Marquez” will be played and thus the 75th anniversary of Igor Kostolevsky will be celebrated. The next release will take place on October 29th. This is The Forest staged by Yegor Peregudov based on Ostrovsky’s play for the 200th anniversary of the playwright’s birth. Artist Vladimir Arefiev came up with a space in which it would be difficult for artists. The premiere of Another Fairy Tale directed by Sergei Ursulyak is scheduled for December. The troupe became especially lively when the artistic director spoke about his hooligan plan to stage a musical family play “The Baghdad Thief and Black Magic” to music by David Tukhmanov and poems by Yuri Entin, where there will be such characters as Tsunami, Tremors, Oriental sweets. He will start work on “Eugene Onegin”. Rehearsals will stretch until the next season, since the lesson itself is risky, Pushkin will open up to us from a new side.
Director Yuri Ioffe, and he is one of the old-timers, has been in the theater for 42 years, will stage Chekhov’s “Uncle Vanya” on the small stage. “I am a student of Boris Ravenskikh at GITIS, I worked with Andrei Goncharov for 20 years. Each week they threatened to put on “Uncle Vanya”, saying that the developments were ready. I want to have time to do what the teachers didn’t do.”
Musician and multi-instrumentalist Pyotr Aidu and the Persimfans orchestra led by him will work on an experimental performance based on Russian classics “Dreams of Russian Literature” in a genre that does not yet exist. The artists will work with texts by Pushkin, Bulgakov, Platonov, Shukshin and noise machines.
The youth program of Mayakovka will be directed by St. Petersburg director Dmitry Krestyankin. Teenagers will write plays under the guidance of experienced teachers and will undergo performative practices. As part of the forum theater, it will be possible to stop on stage with a traumatic situation in order to cope with a similar problem in reality. This experimental program will be opened by the “Square” of the “Bad Theater” from St. Petersburg, which is directed by Dmitry Krestyankin. She is always on wheels and after gathering the troupe went to Kaliningrad. Svetlana Vladimirovna lit the lighthouse, and then made a short and ironic speech: “I am 100 years old at lunchtime, I am an elder. I’ll light the beacon while you continue. We have a lot of plans, which corresponds to Mayakovsky, whose name the theater bears.
