According to Ms. Norina, partners warned Russian companies that the situation in Ecuador caused panic, which led to the temporary closure of ports, the cancellation of container releases by most agencies, the disruption of cardboard deliveries and the cancellation of banana cuttings by producers. Suppliers warned that due to unforeseen circumstances they would not be able to ship the planned volumes of bananas this week, the publication reports the words of the head of the association.

At the same time, Richard Salazar, executive director of the Ecuadorian Banana Marketing and Export Association (Acorbanec), told RBC that the supply of bananas, despite the situation in the country, was not interrupted. He emphasized that both ports and shipping lines continue to operate as normal.
