STS launches new extreme show

In Mineralnye Vody, the shooting of the new extreme show STS “Superninja” was completed. Athletes from all over the country were to be supported by the top three: video blogger Dmitry Maslennikov, player of CSKA and the Russian national rugby team Vasily Artemyev, and star of the TV series Cool Katya Valeria Astapova.

We decided to develop this direction, and with the help of our creative team we created a unique entertainment format not only for fans of this sport, but also for all fans of competitive projects.”

The unique track, consisting of two lanes of 100 meters each, was assembled from fragments brought on 35 trucks. It took six months to develop the structure, and three weeks to install it. The design contains 1374 light fixtures and 400 square meters of LED screens.

According to the rules, the show has a qualifying stage, a semi-final, a final and a super final. For a successful performance in the project, the speed and the number of lit rings that need to be removed at each stage are important. If the ring does not break, the competitor cannot continue the challenge. In the semi-finals, seventy athletes compete not only against the track, but against each other as they test in a pair race on a unique double lane. Thirty-five heroes make it to the finals, with only the top two athletes waiting for the long-awaited superfinal. The winner is the one who can overtake the opponent and get the last ring on top of the 26-meter tower.

Participants from all over the country were waiting for an incredible attraction of obstacles, which has no analogue in the world. The creators of the project received more than 2,000 applications from all over Russia. As a result, 175 participants entered the fight, including: a cheese maker, an animal trainer, a fitness trainer for stars, a hockey player, a DJ, a rescuer, an oil well driller, a participant in beauty contests, a train driver, a ballet dancer, a paraglider and representatives of other professions.

The most difficult obstacle course also awaited star heroes, including musician Yegor Ship, Olympic champion in figure skating Ekaterina Bobrova, blogger Mukhammat Bittuev, Olympic champion and three-time world champion in artistic gymnastics Artur Dalaloyan. “The track is awesome! The design is just right: just right to test the strength of people who came from all over the country, — Yegor Ship shared. — I was very impressed with their willingness to complete the track, despite the rain, cold and long shoots.”

Video blogger Dmitry Maslennikov admitted that in such weather he was warmed by thermal underwear and a thermal gun: “Rain, drizzle, wind – the fabric was soaked to the skin. It is almost impossible to defend in such clothes for a long time, so the team got us a thermal gun. There were also several layers of thermal underwear under our suits, which is why we looked so fat. We also warmed up in the trailer, saved and had a hot lunch with tea. But most of all, the drive helped: they worried about the participants as if they were close ones.

If Dmitry and Vasily supported the athletes at their best, then the star of the STS series “Cool Katya” Valeria Astapova met the heroes near the spectator stand. “I wanted the participants to leave me with a smile on their face and not lose heart! It was important for me to find the right words for someone who did not reach the end of the distance that he so dreamed of with a victory, ” – said the actress, who first tried herself as a TV presenter.
