Strikes spread at Chevron LNG plants

Workers at US oil and gas company Chevron’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) plants in Australia are planning a full-scale two-week strike on September 14. This was announced on September 5 by the Australian trade union association Offshore Alliance.
On Sept. 1, workers at Chevron’s Australian LNG plants Gorgon and Wheatstone rejected a US company’s offer to settle disputes over wages and other working conditions. From September 7, 2023, a protest campaign is to begin at these factories – partial strikes and other actions. Chevron said it would continue negotiations with unions over the labor dispute.
