Stockholm Arbitration Ordered Finnish Gasum to Pay €300 Million to Gazprom

The arbitration court in Stockholm recognized the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the transfer of payment for gas into rubles as force majeure, reported Gazprom. The court ordered the Finnish Gasum to pay Gazprom Export a debt of more than €300 million for gas supplies in connection with the failure to fulfill the “take or pay” obligation. The court also ordered to pay interest for late payment.
Yesterday, Gasum announced that the arbitration had allowed him not to pay in rubles under a contract with Gazprom Export.
