Theater experts spoke at the conference in Caracas
The Bakhrushinsky Theater Museum took part in the Stanislavsky System conference in Caracas, held as part of the International Festival of Progressive Theater 2023. This event was dedicated to the 160th anniversary of the co-founder of the Moscow Art Theater Konstantin Stanislavsky.
Elizaveta Vostrikova, a researcher at the visiting museum, gave a lecture in the capital of Venezuela, revealing aspects of the famous system, its cornerstones and the background of its creation. “Stanislavsky was not satisfied with the contemporary theater and the technique of the artists. Having embarked on the path of a theater reform that was radical for his era, Konstantin Stanislavsky inevitably came to the realization of the need to form new principles for the work of an actor on stage and create a stage image. He was looking for methods that were completely different from those accepted in his time, which would allow the actors to achieve the most living existence on the stage, ”the specialist emphasized.
The Stanislavsky system “for over a hundred years has been used by artists and directors not only in Russia, but all over the world,” Vostrikova also said, and the very fact of holding a conference with the participation of guests from Russia in South America confirms these words.
