After the world premiere in London in 2021, timed to coincide with the 700th anniversary of the death of Dante Alighieri, the three-act ballet The Dante Project based on the Divine Comedy has finally waited in the Opera Garnier. The joint work of the best contemporary authors in the UK – composer Thomas Ades, choreographer Wayne McGregor, artist Tasita Dean – and two of the world’s leading theaters (the Royal Ballet of Great Britain and the Paris Opera) has become the most ambitious ballet production of recent years. Scale impressed Maria Sidelnikova more than an artistic result.
