From April 1, tourists in St. Petersburg will begin to be charged a resort fee. Adult guests of the city must pay 100 rubles. per day when staying in hotels, apart-hotels, sanatoriums and other accommodation facilities for more than 24 hours.

Resort Fee Law was accepted in St. Petersburg in the summer of 2023. The document came into force on October 1, and the zero rate was in effect until March 31, so that the hospitality industry had time to adapt to the changes. From April 1, the resort tax is mandatory for both Russian and foreign tourists. The fee is not charged for the day of arrival and for citizens of 21 preferential categories.
