St. Petersburg signed agreements with pharmaceutical plants for 22 billion rubles at SPIEF

St. Petersburg at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) signed contracts with five pharmaceutical companies worth more than 22 billion rubles, said the city governor Alexander Beglov on Radio Russia.

“The city has signed contracts with five of our pharmaceutical companies worth more than 22 billion rubles. These investments will help establish the production of new, high-tech drugs in St. Petersburg for the treatment of socially significant diseases,” leads his words TASS.

In addition, as Beglov told the radio, St. Petersburg signed an agreement with industrial enterprises for 153 billion rubles at SPIEF 31, thanks to which new jobs will appear in the city and additional revenues will come to the budget. According to him, support will be provided to the Power Machines concern in the production of domestic gas turbines and high-capacity generators. In addition, Beglov added, together with the Baltic Industrial Company, a heavy engineering enterprise will be built and the production of metal-cutting machine tools will begin.

The government of St. Petersburg held many international meetings at the forum, Beglov noted. In particular, they resulted in agreements on expanding tourist contacts with representatives of India, China and Cuba.

This year SPIEF took place June 14-17.
