The brewing company AB InBev Efes localized the production of several foreign brands of beer in Russia due to logistical difficulties, informs Interfax with reference to the company’s statement. Among the brands that will now be produced in Russia are Spaten, Franziskaner, Leffe Blonde and Brune.
“Spaten, Franziskaner, Leffe are some of the most demanded and loved by our consumers imported brands. By localizing their production, we were able to maintain a wide representation of products in all sales channels, while ensuring affordable prices and quality,” said Olga Gavrilenko, Marketing Director of the company.
It is noted that now these brands of beer will be produced at the plant in Kaluga, Ulyanovsk, Omsk, Volzhsky, Klin and Ivanov. In total, AB InBeV Efes has 11 breweries in Russia.
The company was established in 2018 after the merger of Anadolu Efes and Anheuser-Busch InBev in Russia and Ukraine. In 2019, AB InBev Efes became the leader in the Russian beer market, overtaking Carlsberg in terms of market share. According to VTB Capital, in 2020 the share of AB InBev Efes was 30%, Carlsberg – 27%. The company’s brands include Spaten, Stella Artois, Hoegaarden, Klinskoye, Old Melnik from a Barrel, and others.
