Spanish writer and journalist Javier Marias has died at the age of 70. This is reported by Reuters with reference to the Alfaguara publishing house. Previously, the writer was diagnosed with pneumonia. He died today, September 11th.
Mr. Marias has won numerous awards. He has published 16 novels, including the trilogy Your Face Tomorrow, which was published between 2002 and 2007. Javier Marias was also a translator and columnist for the newspaper El Pais.
The writer’s books have been translated into 46 languages and have sold nearly 9 million copies in 56 countries, Alfaguara reports. In 2021, Mr. Marias was elected a Fellow of the British Royal Society of Literature.
