Soviet director Tengiz Semenov has passed away

The Soviet and Russian director and producer, Lenin Prize laureate Tengiz Semenov, has passed away. This was reported by the Union of Cinematographers of Russia.
Semenov was 83 years old. He died on September 7; the cause of death has not been announced.
Semenov became the winner of the Lenin Prize in 1980 for creating the documentary epic “The Great Patriotic War” / “The Unknown War”, he was the director of the 3rd and 10th films of the epic. He also made documentaries “Bandit from Tetyushi”, “Silouan’s Bench”, more than 30 films in total. His daughter is the famous actress Ekaterina Semenova, his wife is the animator director Natalya Orlova.
