Several passengers on the Sochi-Moscow flight with Nordwind airlines returned their tickets after many hours of delay, the carrier’s press service reported. The flight was supposed to take off at 12:25 Moscow time, but in fact it happened at 16:50. While waiting, passengers complained that they were not allowed to leave the stuffy cabin while a technical problem with the plane was being fixed.
“Due to the current situation, several passengers refused to continue their flight. Passengers were disembarked at the airport terminal, luggage was unloaded. Representatives of the transportation service are working with them,” says a message from the Nordwind press service received by Kommersant.
The report notes that the plane arrived in Sochi an hour late. “After the landing was completed, at the request of the air carrier, the airport provided additional equipment to start the propulsion unit, and also provided an air conditioning unit at the airline’s request,” the statement said.
Telegram channel «Caution news“published a video in which the ship’s commander says that the plane cannot take off due to inoperative engines. “The tractor pulled up and didn’t connect because there was no person to insert the right bolt. This is simply outrageous, there are no words. This is the first time in my life that this has happened in 40 years of my flight work,” the pilot says on the recording.
While the malfunction was being fixed, people were not allowed out of the cabin. “This is terrible at Sochi airport. We’ve been sitting there for two hours now, they won’t let us out. The children are just all wet, someone felt bad,” said one of the passengers on the flight. According to the Flightradar24 service, we are talking about a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with tail number RA-73847. On the board at Sochi International Airport the flight was designated as N4-6512.
