Finance Minister Anton Siluanov claims that some owners of foreign companies are willing to pay a tax of 15% when leaving the Russian market. The minimum contribution is 10% by law.
“Some of our colleagues from the ministries, who report to the commission on the transaction for the sale of the business, offer to pay 15%. We do not argue with this,” the minister said in an interview with TASS. He did not specify which companies he is talking about.
According to Mr. Siluanov, each application of a foreign business to leave Russia is considered individually. “The subcommittee meets two or three times a week,” added the head of the Ministry of Finance.
Vedomosti wrotethat the Russian authorities have updated the list of requirements that foreigners must fulfill in order to exit business in Russia. There are ten items on the list, and the new rules are meant to make it harder for foreigners to leave. As Kommersant found out, the requirements for coordinating transactions of companies controlled by persons from unfriendly states prevented a deal from being carried out within the Russian market.
