Sochi International Airport, which has temporarily stopped accepting aircraft for arrival and departure, is operating as normal, said the mayor of the city, Alexey Kopaygorodsky. Four flights from Moscow, Saransk, Penza and Istanbul were redirected to Mineralnye Vody airport.

“Currently, the airport’s operations have been restored. The situation in the city is calm, all life support systems are operating as normal,” Mr. Kopaygorodsky wrote in Telegram channel.

As reported by the Federal Air Transport Agency, the airport suspended the reception and departure of aircraft from 23:13 Moscow time on January 24. Shortly before this, the operational headquarters of the Krasnodar Territory reported a fire at an oil depot in Tuapse. The fire has been localized. Its area, according to Interfax, is 200 square meters. m. The causes of the fire were not specified.
