Sobyanin announced the rapid adaptation of Moscow business to sanctions

Moscow business managed to quickly adapt to new realities after the strengthening of anti-Russian sanctions, said Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin in interview TVC channel.

“Russian business has seen a lot of things in its life, you can’t scare it just like that. Therefore, in general, the situation was definitely not panicky, although in general there were many worries and fears. But after a few months, we can say that these fears did not come true. Our business quickly adapted to this situation,” he said.

The speed of this adaptation, according to the mayor, caused surprise not only in Russia, but throughout the world. The departure of foreign companies created both many problems, for example, in terms of components, and opportunities – many managed to take advantage of these opportunities, Sobyanin explained. In particular, the automotive industry has suffered more than others, but you can develop your own experience and take steps forward, he noted. The direction of electric vehicles is promising in this area, the mayor added.

At the end of November, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin declared about the continued adaptation of the Russian economy to challenges and its resilience to a range of risks. He then recalled that many experts improved their assessments of GDP dynamics, including international organizations – the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the OECD. The decline in the Russian economy at the end of the year, according to preliminary forecasts of the government, may be less than 3%, Mishustin said.

Western countries have sharply increased sanctions against Russia due to a special military operation that began on February 24th.
