In Moscow, the number of businesses grew by 20% after “certain brands” left the market, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said. According to him, against the background of the introduction of support measures, “investments in industry, small and large enterprises, and the military-industrial complex have almost doubled.”
“The number of enterprises did not decrease after certain brands left, but increased by 20%. And this, of course, in the future will give a good effect. Since 2019, we have grown in comparable prices by 36%,” Mr. Sobyanin said at the Made in Russia forum. His words lead press office city hall.
The mayor believes that Moscow is the “number one” city in Russia in terms of the manufacturing industry, which employs 700,000 workers and has about 14,000 enterprises. Among the areas he noted pharmaceuticals, food industry, aerospace construction, automotive and electronics. “That is, it does not produce all this in such a large volume as we would like, but it is still number one in the country,” Sergei Sobyanin added.
Many foreign companies left the Russian market after the start of Russia’s military operation in Ukraine. This affected many markets: from oil production to furniture production.
