“Sibur” has ceased to be a co-owner of the Italian manufacturer of BOPP film Manucor SpA, follows from the materials of the Italian company.
Manucor points out that on January 16, a “difficult transaction” was completed, as a result of which the Biaxplen company, which is part of Sibur, withdrew from its shareholders.
The owner of 5% of Manucor was the company L&M SpA, specially created by the head of Manucor Luigi Scagliotti and the chairman of the board of directors of the company Matteo Rossini. Another shareholder, Loren SPV Srl, increased its stake to 95%. The operation was funded by Cherry Bank SpA. The amount of the transaction is not specified.
Sibur acquired 50% of Manucor, one of the leading BOPP film producers in the EU, in 2019.
Manucor explains that the deal was made due to geopolitical tensions related to military operations in Ukraine. “The change in shareholder structure will allow Manucor to work more effectively with suppliers and customers,” the company said in a statement.
Manucor was founded in 1987 (before 2008 it was called Manulifilm SpA). It owns a plant in Italy with a capacity of 100,000 tons per year.
