SIBUR agreed with the government on the production of equipment for the petrochemical industry

SIBUR General Director Mikhail Karisalov and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak signed an agreement on the development of Russian production of equipment for the petrochemical industry on the sidelines of Russian Energy Week. About it reported press service of the petrochemical company.
The main mechanism for implementing the agreement between the government and the company will be the implementation of the development roadmap, designed until 2030. “The terms and amounts of financing indicated in the roadmap are preliminary in nature and can be clarified as the agreement is implemented. It is expected that, subject to confirmation of the economic efficiency of the developments, it will allow SIBUR to import up to 20 product groups of equipment,” the statement says.
The SIBUR press service recalled that earlier the government, together with petrochemical companies, identified seven areas of development necessary for the technological independence of the industry. For each of them, the main customers interested in the development of certain equipment were identified.
“The agreement establishes the possibility of involving them on mutually beneficial terms in cooperation aimed at building scientific and technical groundwork and creating new domestic solutions,” SIBUR emphasized.
SIBUR is Russia’s largest integrated petrochemical company, specializing in the processing of by-products of oil and gas production. At the end of the first half of the year, the company’s net profit according to IFRS amounted to 32.347 billion rubles. The loss due to exchange rate differences amounted to 68.488 billion rubles.
