Showing surreal paintings by an Iranian artist depicting women

Iranian artist Argavan Khosravi posted her surreal paintings of women on social media.
“These days when I dye my hair, I am full of anger and hope. More than ever, ”she wrote in the commentary on the video where she painted her canvases.
She added the hashtag #MahsaAmini, the name of a 22-year-old woman who died in the Iranian capital Tehran in September after being arrested by the country’s vice police for allegedly wearing the hijab incorrectly, to the post. Amini’s death has since been the catalyst for nationwide protests. Many young women and girls defiantly cut their hair, and the name of the deceased became a slogan on social networks.
Khosravi grew up in a secular family in Tehran.
