The Art Newspaper reports that actress Sharon Stone has opened the first exhibition of her paintings at the Allouche Gallery in Los Angeles, called Shedding. It is noted that the solo exhibition was the debut for the artist, who became interested in painting during the coronavirus pandemic.
Stone admitted that she bought brushes and began working on regaining control and her brush movements. According to the actress, she “painted and painted”, and she managed to find herself, her heart and peace again.
As the artist noted, drawing helped her survive many of the losses she faced in life, in particular, she lost her family, her film family, her personal family, and many members of her family died. She clarified that her brother and his 11-month-old son, her godmother and her grandmother were gone.
The publication clarified that most of the paintings in the exhibition are abstract landscapes. Stone herself studied painting with her aunt Vonn as a child, after which she studied art in college.
