Severnaya Zvezda will develop anthracite deposits in Taimyr

The government of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and Severnaya Zvezda signed an agreement on the development of a project for the development of the Lemberovskoye anthracite deposit in Taimyr, transmits press service of the government of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
“Northern Star” is a resident of the Arctic zone in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. As Sergei Vereshchagin, deputy chairman of the regional government, noted, the company is now also developing the Syradai coal deposit in Taimyr.
He clarified that investments in the project will amount to about 69 billion rubles, and it is also planned to create about 3,000 jobs. According to Oleg Demchenko, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Severnaya Zvezda, the production potential at the field is about 200-300 million tons, informs TASS.
He specified that in 2023 the company will complete the construction of the first sea terminal in Taimyr. At the next stage, it is planned to extract 5 million tons of anthracites.
The press service of the region explained that within the framework of the project, grade A coal concentrate will be produced, shipment will be carried out through the Kara Sea sea terminal at the entrance to the Yenisei Bay along the Northern Sea Route.
Earlier today, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Victoria Abramchenko called on Russian industrialists and entrepreneurs to invest their experience and capital in Siberia.
Severnaya Zvezda was founded in 2017 to develop the Syradai field. The resources of the deposit are estimated at more than 5 billion tons. Until 2025, investments in the project will amount to 45 billion rubles, in total it is planned to invest 100 billion rubles.
