Sergei Shargunov commented on state awards to veterans of Russian literature

Five writers were awarded orders at once

Writer and State Duma deputy Sergei Shargunov commented to MK on the awarding of five famous Russian writers with the Order of Merit in Culture and Art. The Association of Writers’ and Publishers’ Unions, which remains the largest integration writing organization in Russia, presented the writers with the prestigious state insignia.

The award was given to three famous poets – Oleg Chukhontsev, Stanislav Kunyaev (chief editor of the Our Contemporary magazine) and Evgeny Rein. The order will be given to the exquisite prose writer, master of Russian “magic realism” Anatoly Kim and the writer, critic, outstanding Gogol scholar Igor Zolotussky.

– Working together with these writers is a real success, it is very interesting to ask them about their experiences and experiences. They are a living part of history, without them the literature of the last century is unimaginable, but at the same time, all of them are in the 21st century too. Gambling, bright, passionate, not similar to each other, – emphasized Shargunov, who called the five veterans of the literary process “an expression of literary modernity.”

The authors listed above are living undisputed classics. For example, Joseph Brodsky called Rein his teacher, and Oleg Chukhontsev was considered one of the brightest representatives of Russian poetry of his time already in the 1970s.
