The head of Rosneft, Igor Sechin, at the XV Verona Eurasian Economic Forum announced that the transnational company BP received dividends in the amount of $ 700 million for the second half of the year. According to him, she does not participate in the life of Rosneft, but remains a shadow shareholder.
“Despite the bright statements of the BP Board of Directors dated February 27 of this year about the decision to terminate participation in the share capital of Rosneft, the company did not comply with this decision. And, despite all the rhetoric, continues to be a shadow shareholder. Does not participate in the work of the company’s management bodies, retaining all rights and dividends corresponding to the package. Relying on them (BP.— “b”) for the second half of 2021, dividends in the amount of $700 million were transferred to the accounts opened for them,” Mr. Sechin said (quoted by TASS).
The head of Rosneft also said that BP’s total income from participation in equity capital and joint ventures with Rosneft is $37 billion with investments of $10 billion.
Shares in Rosneft are owned by two subsidiaries of the company (10.36%), Rosneftegaz (40.4%), and Qatari QH Oil Investments (18.46%).
On February 27, the board of directors of the British BP announced the sale of 19.75% in Rosneft, as well as the exit from three joint ventures with Rosneft in Russia, the value of which in 2021 is $ 1.4 billion.
