The oil and gas company Rosneft intends to increase hydrocarbon production by about 5% in 2023 compared to the level of last year, the head of the company, Igor Sechin, announced yesterday, February 6, on the sidelines of the India Energy Week conference. According to him, the volume of hydrocarbons produced by the company increased by 3% in 2022. However, Mr. Sechin did not give absolute figures.

The head of Rosneft also announced the resumption of production and shipment of oil as part of the Sakhalin-1 project. “We work with all industrial safety standards that correspond to the characteristics of this project. The project, of course, is technically complex – this is a shelf. Work is carried out both on the shore and on the platforms. Mining is coming. Sales are on, ”he specified (quoted by TASS).

In March last year, the Sakhalin-1 operator Exxon Neftegaz Limited announced its intention to leave the project. In April, a force majeure regime was introduced, and by autumn, the production and export of gas and oil were stopped.

Based on the results of the first nine months of 2022, Rosneft’s production of liquid hydrocarbons made up 3.81 million barrels per day. Thus, from January to September last year, the figure rose by 2.2% to 4.97 million barrels of oil equivalent per day. The company has not yet provided results for the 12 months of 2022.
