The Union of Cinematographers of Russia reported on its website about the death of screenwriter and film producer Konstantin Vorobyov. The cause of death of 53-year-old Vorobyov has not been reported.
Vorobiev, who was born in Belarus, has been associated with television and cinema since 1993. As an editor and producer, he prepared over a thousand different television programs for broadcast on Belarusian and Russian television.
In 2004, he acted as the scriptwriter and producer of the first Belarusian musical “Light in the Heart from a Merry Song”, and also directed the 4-episode feature television series “Three Talers”.
However, Konstantin Vorobyov became widely known after the Russian-Belarusian film “Brest Fortress” by Alexander Kott was released in 2010, based on his script, which received many awards at international festivals. In 2011, based on Vorobyov’s script, the mini-series “Fortress” was released, as a more expanded version of the film.
In addition, Vorobyov taught at the Moscow State Institute of Culture for several years.
