Sberbank (MOEX: SBER) always writes off all types of loans from clients who died during terrorist attacks or during military operations in border areas. Particular attention is paid to clients living in the Kursk and Belgorod regions, the bank’s press service reported.

“From the first days of SVO, Sberbank has been focusing on ensuring business continuity in border areas, priority support for clients in the Belgorod and Kursk regions,” the message says (quoted from “RIA News”).

The bank added that clients living in border areas, evacuated or injured and killed in the northwestern region have been added to a special borrower support program since 2022. For example, for injured or evacuated clients, Sberbank provides an interest-free deferment on payments for up to one year.

March 23 Sberbank promised to resolve the issue of loans to those injured and killed in the recent terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall near Moscow, in which, according to the latest data, 139 people were killed. Central Bank recommended creditors to write off the debts of borrowers who died in the terrorist attack.
